When staying in a ryokan in Kawaguchiko / Izu:
10:00 - 11:00 Transfer to Mount Fuji area.
11:00 - 16:30 Excursion to Fuji with a Yamabushi monk
Kawaguchiko and Hakone are the most popular tourist destinations. At the same time, they are crowded with tourists and are not always built up with picturesque concrete buildings.
To learn more about how the Japanese worshipped Fuji in ancient times and what beliefs are alive today, we suggest a walk through the forests on the slope of Fuji with the Yamabushi mountain monk. In total darkness in the sacred cave formed as a result of the Fuji eruption, the monk will conduct rituals, tell about the meaning of Fuji for the Japanese and about who the Yamabushi monks are. The story and demonstration of the rituals are conducted exclusively for educational purposes, and you can take part in them regardless of religious beliefs.
Walk with a monk along the trail (on the slope of Fuji / in the Aokigahara Forest or along the panoramic route overlooking Fuji). The duration is from 30 minutes to 3 hours, depending on the wishes of the participants and the level of physical fitness, as well as weather conditions.
If the duration of the walk is short, then you can drive to the lake, in which Mount Fuji is reflected in clear weather, or to the Shiraito waterfalls.
Option (additional payment and advance booking required): visit the monk's mountain hut, where the forge is located, to learn about the skill of making swords, try to cut rolled mats (the monk will allow you to pick up a sword only if he is sure that you are ready for this).
The tour takes place on the side of Fuji, where the most advantageous views of the mountain and at the same time there are no crowds of tourists. Part of the tour takes place along the Fuji slope at an altitude of 2 000-2 200 meters (warmer clothes and comfortable sports shoes are required). If you do not tolerate altitude well, visiting the slope will be replaced by the forest at its foot.
Important! Mount Fuji is visible only in clear weather!

Visit to the blacksmith shop. The sword maker is a cultural asset of the prefecture, he held a solo exhibition in London. The title of mukans is one of the highest awards.
This is a place where a random person cannot get to and a rare opportunity to come into contact with art and, at the same time, visit a Japanese house. The master is happy to talk about his art, and his son helps in demonstrating the stages of work on swords.
This is not a gallery, the decor in the workshop and at home is simple, but "real", the visit is valuable because it is not a show for tourists.
12:30 - 13:30 The wife of the master prepares a simple but delicious homemade lunch.

- Out of respect for the master, you should not be late / cancel the visit / shorten it. This is not a mass tour, so it is important to maintain a good relationship with the master who found the time to meet. The main thing here is the owner of the house, the master, this visit cannot be treated as a service, a service, it is rather a visit, where there are traditions, features that need to be treated with respect, even if they are not very clear.
- The house and workshop are real, modest, traditional Japanese. This is not a luxurious gallery, but the visit is interesting because it is not often possible to visit the Japanese.
- The spouse prepares a simple homemade lunch (for example, baked sweet potatoes or some other home-cooked dishes). You can report allergies, she will try to take them into account, but this is not a restaurant, it is impossible to order from the menu. If you don't like any of the dishes, please don't show it.

The collection of the Miho Museum began with tea ceremony tableware, objects of Shinto-Buddhist art, paintings, calligraphic works, ceramics, lacquerware and other objects of Japanese art, which were collected by the founder of the museum, Mihoko Koyama, for more than 40 years.
Gradually, the private collection turned into an art museum project. He represented Mihoko Koyama's belief that the path to beauty, peace and joy lies through art. Acquaintance with architect Yo Ming Pei contributed to the realization of this project, and the collection of exhibits also includes objects of ancient art from around the world.
The museum houses about three thousand works of art from Japan and the Ancient World, and 250-500 of them are available for contemplation at any time.
